Snowboard Brands
Some snowboard brands are synonymous with value, performance, and quality. Knowing which ones are the best choices of snowboarding brands to ensure the experience is a good one can mean the difference between a great experience and one that is just so so. The biggest question, and the one we hope to help you sort out, is are the top snowboard brands the best snowboard brands? It is a fairly well known belief that the most popular snowboard brands are the best brands of snowboards, but are the top snowboarding brands really the best?
Before you can make an informed decision on which snowboard is best for you, you should consider the type of snowboard you will need based on the type of snowboarding you will be doing. If you are a snowboard racer, you will want a freecarve board, but the other two types are freeride and freestyle snowboards, and these styles are available in virtually all snowboard brands. Since there are more than one type of snow board, it is best to decide where your interests lie before you ever go shopping, so doing a little research before you begin to decide on a snowboard brand is a great idea.

The top boards in 2007 included Flow Team, Rome Anthem, and Burton Jussi. These all-mountain snowboards are always favourites. Twin tip snowboards like Sapient Lotus, Forum Grudge, and Ride Society were also popular as were styles by Gnu like Rider's Choice. The top styles range from approximately $400 to $600, but can be purchased on sale or at season's end for additional savings if you are boarding on a budget.
Another great option to consider if you are renting snowboarding equipment is buying your own instead. A good pair of boots and a board can often be purchased for less than the cost of just a few days rental, so you could actually save money your first trip out, if you choose to buy your own equipment. Don't forget to check out rental shops, especially at the season's end, for equipment that is being cleared out to make room for newer styles. Most rental equipment, because of the high use in rental shops, is replaced at the first signs of wear, so you can often pick up some great deals. Just be certain the equipment you purchase is in good shape and repair before you buy, because used equipment can rarely be returned.
